How It Works

stage1

Stage 1: Contact Focus Claims USA Immediately

After contacting Focus Claims we will review your insurance policy in order to understand the coverage, provisions, and limitations within. Armed with that information we can then lay out a series of steps we advise you take. The steps will be paramount to the outcome of your recovery.

Contact Us by Email

Contacting us by email is not as quick as contacting us by phone but once we receive your submission we will respond with a phone call as soon as possible.

Contact Us by Phone

By far the quickest way to begin expediting your claim is to contact us by phone at 512-758-4220. This will allow us to gather critical information in the shortest amount of time. The more information we can gather during this time the better we can address your immediate concerns. Once we have the information needed we’ll schedule a meeting at a time you can be present so we can perform the initial inspection of your damage.

Contact Us by Claim Form

Again, not as quick as calling us direct but you can follow this link and easily submit a claim form to Focus Claims. Once we review your submission we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your claim. The more information you can provide in the online claim form the quicker we can answer your questions and concerns.

Stage 2: Authorization

By the end of the initial meeting with Focus Claims, we’re confident you’ll realize the importance of having a public adjusting firm on your side during the claims process. So the next step would be a discussion about our fees and legally authorizing Focus Claims to be your claim representative.

Appointing Focus Claims

In order for us to legally represent you, you must first appoint us as your public adjuster. This is simply done by signing an authorization form which allows us to advise your insurance carrier that we will be your claim representative.

Focus Claims Fee Structure

Focus Claims fees are minimal. By minimal we mean they are unsubstantial when compared to the total recovery amount we are able to negotiate for you. Although each case is accompanied by a unique set of circumstances that may dictate a higher or lower fee, as a reference, you can approximate our fees to be in the 10% range (only 1/10th of your total recovery). Since our compensation is in direct relation to your recovery you can trust that we have a vested interest and are extremely motivated to ensure that you are compensated adequately and in direct proportion to your coverage and policy limits.

Stage 3: Investigation

Once you’ve authorized Focus Claims to be your public adjuster the next step would be a comprehensive analysis of your policy provisions and stipulations so we can determine what applies to your individual case when it comes to coverage, limits, and exclusions.

The states where we hold our licenses require continued education in order to remain in compliance with all issues that affect the public adjusting practice. So when it comes to planning for your loss, documenting the damages and presenting your claim you can be assured that we understand all the factors that may influence your current insurance policy.

For example, your copy of the insurance policy may be at variance with current practices in your area due to recent court rulings. Because Focus Claims is trained to find these anomalies we can lawfully request the adjustment of your property claim to reflect current practices. This empowers us to structure a claims strategy that will yield the best results for you.

Stage 4: Documentation of the Claim

One of the provisions of an insurance policy that the policyholder is required to conform to is “Your Duties After a Loss”. In order to meet those requirements for documentation, you must complete a complex and meticulous process often requiring ample time and extra expenses. However, when Focus Claims is authorized as your claim representative we create a precise property profile reflecting an accurate value that conforms to the language in your insurance policy.

This extensive process includes:

  • Comprehensive construction estimates with all applicable engineering documents
  • Thorough and confirmed inventory and content schedules with accurate valuations and all supporting documents
  • Business interruption coverage analysis including projections and forecasts
  • Technical and supporting document requirements for the claims adjusting process.

Stage 5: Presentation of the Claim

Now that we’ve determined and documented the degree of your loss, Focus Claims will prepare a schedule of losses that we will submit to your insurance carrier.

We Follow These Step Prior to Submission...

  • The completed schedule will then go through a complete review by our staff.
  • After review, your claim will be segregated into separate categories that conform to the various policy provisions that apply.
  • We then sit down with you for a thorough review of all the documents.
  • Upon your final approval, we submit your property insurance claim to your insurance carrier.

Stage 6: Negotiations

It’s expected that there may be some negotiations with your insurance carrier regarding the claim submission. Often, this simply comes down to the justification of the value and legitimacy of your claim elements. However, a well-defined, professionally documented position will almost always garner the respect of the insurance carriers representative.

Learn How We Expedite the Process...

Focus Claims expertise and qualifications come well into play during this process. First, we commence claims status follow-up on your behalf which expedites the processing of your claim. If your insurance carrier tries to delay the process by requesting claim clarifications we can thwart this by using our expertise to promptly and accurately respond. All in all, our ability to swiftly counter any questions should lead to a fair and expedient settlement of your claim.

Stage 7: Settlement

No settlement will be accepted without your approval and you will be kept in the loop of all offers and negotiations during the settlement process. We understand the negative financial hardship and ramifications a loss to your property can have on your personal life or your business. If we can settle one part of your claim without compromising the other parts in an effort to provide quick relief we will do so. You can always expect our public adjusters to be diligent in resolving your claim.
